In a four-stroke engine, at the beginning of the induction process, the downward motion of the piston creates a reduction in cylinder pressure which gives rise to the propagation of a rarefaction wave into the intake runner pipe. The periodic charging and discharging of the cylinders, together with the pressure increase generated during the combustion process, gives rise to highly unsteady flow in the manifolds of reciprocating engines.
Who can figure out what this is talking about for example. They have used complicated terms to describe what really is simple terms. Sounds like it was written by an engineer. I've been readin thru some of the documentation.
